Alcon Entertainment Bets on ``Little Eddie Post''.

LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 14, 2000

Alcon Entertainment has acquired the rights to produce the live-action/CG animated family comedy "Little Eddie Post," it was announced today by the company's co-presidents, Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

The screenplay was written by former Boston Red Sox catcher turned screenwriter, David Schmidt, and will be produced by Penney Finkelman Cox and Sandra Rabins of Patchwork Productions ("Prince of Egypt," "Antz") in association with Alcon's Johnson and Kosove. Frederik Du Chau ("Quest for Camelot") is attached to direct.

Steven Wegner, Alcon's vice president of development, brought the project to the company and will serve as executive producer. In addition, he will receive credit as co-creator of the project. The film will be released through Alcon's distribution deal with Warner Bros.

"We are delighted to be producing this picture with Penney and Sandy and are thrilled that Frederik has agreed to direct the project," said Kosove.

Added Johnson, "The honesty and integrity of the story charmed us and we are looking forward to bringing this project to life on the big screen."

The story revolves around an orphaned race horse, Little Eddie Post, and a spirited young girl named Channing whose dream is to become a professional jockey. The family comedy reflects the challenges they face as the outcast and the underdog, respectively. Together, with the help of their animal and human friends, they are able to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.

Scott Edel of Kleinberg, Lopez, Lange, Brisbin & Cuddy negotiated the deal for Alcon. Schmidt was represented by Jeffrey Joyner of Keats, McFarland & Wilson. Finkelman Cox and Rabins deal was negotiated by Julie Kane-Ritch at AMG and Harley Williams of Blanc, Williams, Johnston & Kronstadt.

Du Chau is represented by Maggie Rodford and managed by AMG.

Named after the ally of Hercules -- a mythological archer who never missed his target -- Alcon Entertainment LLC was founded in 1997 to develop, package, finance and produce both feature films and television programming. Co-presidents Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove founded the company, which is personally financed by Frederick W. In addition to "Little Eddie Post," Alcon will begin shooting the period drama "Affair of the Necklace," starring Academy Award(R) nominee and Golden Globe(R) winner Hillary Swank, this summer. To date, Alcon Entertainment has financed and produced two other feature films for Warner Bros., including last year's romantic comedy, "Lost & Found," starring David Spade and Sophie Marceau, and the critically acclaimed "My Dog Skip," starring Frankie Muniz ("Malcolm In The Middle"), Kevin Bacon, Diane Lane and Luke Wilson, which is currently the No. 1 family film in the United States.
