Alcoholics Anonymous Is Saving Lives

Alcoholics Anonymous is saving lives and even though it is anonymous the credit goes beyond just being sober, but it is also changing behaviors which would lead to decreasing crime and domestic abuse. Alcoholics Anonymous is more than a meeting place for recovering alcoholics. It is also a place to work on behavior changes by sharing and admitting negative behaviors, which could lead to a relapse, and by being thoroughly honest these changes of behaviors will lead to a spiritual awakening that some of us find in such a spiritual program.

Honest

My name is "John Doe" I am an alcoholic. This is the first step of alcoholics anonymous. By admitting that we were alcoholics and our lives became unmanageable we are accepting the defeat. Admitting powerlessness brings on a
Power greater than self. Changes of ones self is now in the works by working through step one and with out it the chances of an alcoholic is at the minimum.

Taking a personal inventory

This is mainly coming from the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. By taking your personal inventory and not your significant others, family, or old using friends, is the beginning to open the door to the biggest change in your recovering life. This is about what you did do and it is not about what you did not do. This is about you and the wrongs you committed. This is about the root of the problems that causes the alcohol to become so powerful. Yes, by sharing the wrongs you done and not blaming others will open the door to empathy a feeling of hurt and care for another fellow human being. This is not pity me or pity soul. It is you looking into the mirror. After you work through your inventory list, it is now time to share it.

Sharing your personal inventory

By sitting down with a sponsor, pastor, friend, or a family member it will be time to share your inventory. I would say, "Throw away your garbage and become clean." This is where the change comes. Yes, feel the pain of shame, guilt, hurt, sad, and empathy. Once it is all out the Spiritual Awakening will began to grow with wisdom and glow.

This change of being totally honest helps alcoholics to maintain sobriety and to change their behaviors. The changes affect them by them learning to live an honest and productive life. It is the continuing works by looking at all possibilities and to be part of an organization that is anonymous.
