Alcohol sales plan opposed.

A SHOP bidding to extend the hours it sells alcohol is facing opposition.

The police, a city-centre law practice and a resident have formally objected to a plan by Spar on St Mary Street to sell alcohol between 8am and 11pm.

The store currently sells alcohol between 8am and 9pm.

A Spar spokeswoman said the company was responsible and merely wants to bring its trading hours in line with other shops.
