Alcoa to produce castings for Navy missiles, launch airfoil casting program in Hungary.


Alcoa Inc., Pittsburgh, signed a five-year, $30 million contract in which Alcoa Forged Products and Aluminum Castings will produce aluminum structural castings for the U.S. Navy's Tactical Tomahawk tomahawk [from an Algonquian dialect of Virginia], hatchet generally used by Native North Americans as a hand weapon and as a missile. Alcoa also announced that through an $83 million project, it will launch a new manufacturing operation for airfoil castings at the firm's Alcoa-Kofem Ltd. plant in Szekesfehervar, Hungary. The new casting division is part of a larger modernization modernization
