Alcoa selects construction manager for new corporate center.


PITTSBURGH Pittsburgh (pĭts`bərg), city (1990 pop. 369,879), seat of Allegheny co., SW Pa., at the confluence of the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers, which there form the Ohio River; inc. 1816. , Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 1996--Alcoa has awarded the contract for managing construction of its new corporate center on Pittsburgh's Northshore to Turner Construction Turner Construction Company is one of the largest construction management companies in the United States with a construction volume of $8.5 billion in 2006. According to Engineering News-Record  Company, the nation's largest contractor.

The contract will be managed by Turner's Pittsburgh Office. Official groundbreaking ceremonies for the world headquarters building will take place in early May, with actual construction to begin in mid May. The building is expected to be completed in the spring of 1998.

Alcoa's Corporate Center will be built on the shore of the Allegheny River Allegheny River
