Alcoa World Alumina curtails alumina production.PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 1996--Alcoa World Alumina alumina (əl `mĭnə) or aluminum oxide, Al2O3, chemical compound with m.p. about 2,000°C; and sp. gr. about 4.0. and Chemicals (AWAC) announced today a 350,000-metric tonne (mt) curtailment in its annual production of smelter-grade alumina. The curtailment will be implemented immediately.
