This $100,000 grant represents a special award to help Pennsylvania prepare those professionals and civilians who are trained and ready to respond to emergencies. This grant honors those who perished near Shanksville, PA on Flight 93 on September 11 and supports the emergency response training of many other Pennsylvanians.

"We have thousands of employees in Pennsylvania, and more than a dozen facilities here. This is a state that bore a special burden on September 11, and it is the state where Alcoa was founded and continues to flourish. This is why we have made a special award to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to assist in the training of more people who respond first to emergencies and disasters," said Richard B.
