Alcoa Industrial Chemicals Division.Alcoa Alcoa U.S. company, the world's largest producer of aluminum. Established in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1888, it adopted the name Aluminum Co. of America in 1907. Alcoa introduced aluminum foil in 1910 and found uses for aluminum in the emerging aviation and automobile industries. Industrial Chemicals Division recently began operation of an alumina alumina (əl `mĭnə) or aluminum oxide, Al2O3, chemical compound with m.p. about 2,000°C; and sp. gr. about 4.0. chemicals processing and distribution facility at Leetsdale, PA,
20 miles west of Pittsburgh. The Regional Processing Center will
