In the U.S. of America Union (USWA USWA United Steelworkers of America USWA United States Wrestling Association USWA United States Windsurfing Association USWA United States Wristwrestling Association ) jointly announced today that they held constructive meetings today in Pittsburgh regarding grievances at Alcoa U.S. Master Agreement operating facilities, which have resulted in "five day notices". Both parties have agreed to meet again to continue discussions as soon as schedules can be arranged. The plants continue to operate as usual, meeting customer requirements. A USWA-sponsored team has reviewed the grievances from the four facilities to determine common concerns and issues and that is the subject of the meetings between the two parties. The five-day talk notices will continue to be on hold with no meetings scheduled. If Alcoa and the USWA are unable to reach agreement on the issues, the local union at each of the Alcoa plants can resume the normal process of five-day notice. |
