Alcide Corp. announces patent infringement suit against Babson Brothers Co.

) today announced that on Monday, Aug. 19, 1996, it filed suit in the Federal Court for the Western District of Wisconsin against Babson Brothers Co. of Naperville, Ill., to halt what Alcide believes is a clear infringement of its patent rights.

The suit claims infringement by Babson Brothers through making and selling its Intersept teat dip teat dip

for teat dipping or spraying in mastitis control. Suitable dips are Hibitane 1 in 5000, iodine preparations containing 100 ppm free iodine or chlorine solutions containing 800-1200 ppm of free chlorine, linear dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid.

The suit seeks an injunction against Babson Brothers' continued sale of its infringing product as well as monetary damages Monetary damages, in civil law, refers to compensation given to an injured party by a liable party. Monetary damages may be restitution, a penalty, or both. . Alcide is confident that the court will find its claims meritorious. Alcide intends to fully and vigorously protect its patent rights.
