) today announced that the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin has issued a preliminary injunction A temporary order made by a court at the request of one party that prevents the other party from pursuing a particular course of conduct until the conclusion of a trial on the merits.

Alcide filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Babson Brothers on Aug. 19, 1996, and moved for a preliminary injunction against further sales of the INTERSEPT product on Sept. 10, 1996. Following yesterday's hearing, Judge Barbara B. Crabb of the Western District of Wisconsin issued the preliminary injunction order enjoining en·join
