Alcatel-Lucent Receives U.S. Government's Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Approval on 5ESS(R) Switch.

VIENNA, Va. -- LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) dedicated to serving the U.S. government community, announced today that the Alcatel-Lucent 5ESS[R] Switch was certified as interoperable with the Defense Switched Network (DSN) by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and the Defense Information System Network Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG). As a result, this product has been added to the DoD Approved Products List (APL).

This Certification demonstrates the continued commitment of LGS and Alcatel-Lucent to deliver products and services designed to fit the unique needs of the U.S. government customer.

The JITC-certified elements for the 5ESS Switch included:

* The full 5ESS Switch configuration

* The cost reduced Compact Digital eXchange (CDX)

* The Very Compact Digital eXchange (VCDX) configurations

* The Administrative Services Module (ASM)

* The EXtended Switch Module (EXM)

* The Distinctive Remote Module (DRM)

Note: The EXM and DRM are Remote Switch Units (RSU) that feature full functional operation in standalone mode.
