The services will be available for commercial use before the end of this year in Beijing.

AODI is the latest ISDN evolution. This application allows operators to maintain an "always on" packet service connection between an ISDN end-user and an Internet Service Provider Internet service provider (ISP)

Company that provides Internet connections and services to individuals and organizations. For a monthly fee, ISPs provide computer users with a connection to their site (see data transmission), as well as a log-in name and password.
. It also enables users to pay dynamically for the data sent and the additional bandwidth needed for transmission of large amounts of data.

AODI enables service providers to offer a large number of services to both residential and professional end-users. Home-offices users benefit from a permanent connection to the Internet and immediate visibility to information when received. For professional users, AODI provides secure e-business services in the domain of banking, logistics and monitoring.

Dirk Bailliere, Alcatel's vice president for voice network activities in Asia Pacific said, "The demand for value-added services, which is the foundation of Next Generation Networks, is growing fast in China. Beijing Telecom's AODI offer is particularly profitable for banks, information service providers as well as gaming companies, which require a high quality of service."

About AODI - Always on Dynamic ISDN

Always On Dynamic ISDN (AODI) is the latest ISDN evolution that enables a permanent low-speed connection to the Internet using the ISDN D-channel. Low bandwidth requirement services such as sending and receiving e-mails, news feeds, automated data collection, credit card verification See CSC. , can be met using this constant virtual connection, which accommodated speeds of about 9.6kb/s. AODI also gives an additional bandwidth, as needed as needed prn. See prn order. , by quickly and automatically using additional B-channels (at 64 bit/s or 128 bit/s) to complete a high-bandwidth function and then returns to the normal D-channel usage after the function is complete.
