Alcatel Introduces New Open-Standard Voice Over Packet Solutions.

Designed for multi-vendor networks, Alcatel's new VoP suite -- the Alcatel SoftSwitch, Trunking Gateway, Signaling Server, Packet Tandem and Intelligent Network (IN) applications -- provides the flexibility required for today's converged networks.

Alcatel's VoP suite includes products that enable established service providers to leverage their existing networks and offer converged voice and data services to their subscribers, while protecting their investment. With Alcatel's VoP solutions, new providers can offer differentiated services Offerings that can be classified by type, or quality, of service. For example, a differentiated services network could prioritize real time traffic for a higher fee.  into rapidly expanding markets.
