Alcatel Chooses Basis Communications To Deliver a Proven ADSL Solution.


FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 1999--

Market leader Alcatel selects newcomer Basis Communications' next-generation Broadband ATM chipset -- code-named Thunder -- to couple with its DynaMiTe dynamite, explosive made from nitroglycerin and an inert, porous filler such as wood pulp, sawdust, kieselguhr, or some other absorbent material. The proportions vary in different kinds of dynamite; often ammonium nitrate or sodium nitrate is added. (tm) chipset and provide a complete broadband over ADSL See DSL.

This partnership reinforces a commitment between Alcatel and Basis Communications to drive the marketplace and accelerate the deployment of broadband ADSL solutions worldwide. The combined architecture is an industry recognized, proven and comprehensive solution with Service Providers already deploying the predecessor to Thunder combined with Alcatel's DynaMiTe chipset.
