Albuquerque's largest integrated delivery system selects PHAMIS-LASTWORD.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 1996--PHAMIS PHAMIS - Public Health Automated Medical Information Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:PHAM), Seattle-based developer of the LASTWORD healthcare information system, announced today that it has signed a contract to install its PHAMIS-LASTWORD system throughout Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS), based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

PHS is an integrated delivery system consisting of 11 hospitals and medical centers ranging in size from 20 to 500 beds, a health maintenance organization, convalescent con·va·les·cent (knv-ls centers, home healthcare agencies, urgent care centers, outpatient clinics and doctor offices throughout the state of New Mexico. These include:

-- Albuquerque Hospitals: Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian

Kaseman Hospital and Presbyterian Pickard Convalescent Center

-- Regional Hospitals: Artesia General Hospital, Colfax General

Hospital, Dan C. Trigg Hospital, Delta County Memorial Hospital,

Espanola Hospital, Lincoln County Medical Center, Plains Regional

Medical Center-Clovis, Plains Regional Medical Center -- Portales Portales (pôrtăl`ĭs), city (1990 pop. 10,690), seat of Roosevelt co., E N.Mex., near the Tex. line; inc. 1910. It is the trade and processing center of an agricultural area. There is food processing, printing and publishing, and the manufacture of machinery, furniture, building products, and feeds.

-- LASTWORD for Enterprise Scheduling: Appointment Scheduling,

Exam Scheduling, Clinic Check-In/Check-Out

-- LASTWORD for Financial Management: Patient Accounting, Clinic

Billing & Receivables Management -0-

The PHAMIS-LASTWORD healthcare information system is an integrated hardware and software solution that constructs an on-line lifetime medical record that is simultaneously accessible throughout the healthcare delivery enterprise. The system consists of more than 40 modular applications that collect, store and organize patient-centered information as a single relational database that is used to support enterprise-wide decision making in patient care, finance and administration. LASTWORD operates on the fault-tolerant computing platform provided by Tandem Computers Inc.
