Albion search for the young stars of future.

ALBION are opening their doors to help find the next potential Hawthorns hero.

They are offering open trials for boys aged between 14 and 16 later this month.

It's an ideal opportunity for budding budding, type of grafting in which a plant bud is inserted under the bark of the stock (usually not more than a year old). It is best done when the bark will peel easily and the buds are mature, as in spring, late summer, or early autumn.  footballers to earn a full Baggies Academy trial.

Steve Hopcroft, recruitment officer for Albion's academy, said: "I am always seeing ways to recruit in an unorthodox manner. S "There are so many kids playing for teams or in some forms of organised football but what about those who haven't got that opportunity for whatever reason.

"There may be good players out there and this way we can maybe identify some who fall under our usual radar.

"This is an open trial and an opportunity to try and ensure no-one slips through our net.

The trials will take place at the club's indoor training facility off Halfords Lane, West Bromwich West Bromwich (brŭm`ĭj, –ĭch, brŏm`wĭch), city (1991 pop. 146,386), Sandwell metropolitan district, W central England. , 150 metres from The Hawthorns stadium.

Albion have, however, stipulated the following requirements.

Players must be in years nine, ten or 11 at school, hold a full European passport passport

The club is looking for: n GOALKEEPERS: Must be slim with an athletic build, agile and have good handling skills.

n DEFENDERS: Must be quick with and without the ball, and competitive.

n MIDFIELDERS: Must be able to manipulate the ball in tight areas and execute a range of long and short passes.

n FORWARDS: Goalscorers, dribblers dribblers
