BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1997--Albertson's, Inc. (NYSE NYSE

:ABS) announced sales trends for the four-week period ended October 30, 1997.

Total sales increased 6.8%, identical store sales increased 1.7% and comparable store sales (which include replacement stores) increased 1.7% over the similar four-week period last year.

For the thirteen-week period ended October 30, 1997, total sales increased 7.0%, identical store sales increased 1.1% and comparable store sales increased 1.2% over the similar thirteen-week period last year.

Final sales and earnings results for the quarter ended October 30, 1997, will be released on November 24, 1997.
