Alberta creates disabilities issues office.

The Office will assist government in responding to the Alberta Alberta (ălbûr`tə), province (2001 pop. 2,974,807), 255,285 sq mi (661,188 sq km), including 6,485 sq mi (16,796 sq km) of water surface, W Canada.  Disability Strategy, released by the Premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities in December December: see month.  2002.

The premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities will act as an advisory body to the Office for Disability Issues. Specifically, the Office for Disability Issues will attempt to:

* provide a reference point for enquiries concerning matters affecting persons with disabilities;

* improve communication with the community to identify issues affecting persons with disabilities;

* assist with the development and implementation of policies across government departments to remove barriers and create accessible programs and services;

* promote positive attitudes and raise awareness of disability issues;

* assist with efforts to ensure that the concerns and issues affecting Albertans with disabilities are represented in federal/provincial/territorial processes;

* evaluate the status of Albertans with disabilities; and promote additional accountability The traceability of actions performed on a system to a specific system entity (user, process, device). For example, the use of unique user identification and authentication supports accountability; the use of shared user IDs and passwords destroys accountability.  of government programs.
