Alberta bishops are worried about schools. (News in Brief: Canada).

Edmonton--The Alberta bishops have critized the building of shared public and Catholic schools as undermining Catholic education in their September 4 statement Catholic Education: Becoming salt and light for the world. The sharing of facilities creates grave problems, they state. The attachment of two schools with significantly different values is an uncreative strategy" that produces "little real benefit."

The principal reason for the faltering vision may be found in the book The Catholic School in an Age of Dissent An explicit disagreement by one or more judges with the decision of the majority on a case before them.

A dissent is often accompanied by a written dissenting opinion, and the terms dissent and dissenting opinion are used interchangeably.
