Dr. Paladino has served as an outside director of RF Micro Devices since 1992. He succeeds Bill Pratt, co-founder and chief technology officer of RF Micro Devices, who remains a member of the board of directors. Dr. Paladino's appointment is effective immediately.

"Al has been an active participant in the evolution and growth of RF Micro Devices. His long-time involvement with the Company as an outside director, as well as his experience as a technologist, will prove invaluable in his role as chairman."

Dr. Paladino is a director of TranSwitch Corporation and has been chairman of Telaxis Communications Corporation since 1992. From 1981 to 1998, he was a general partner of Advanced Technology Ventures, where he supported the growth of a number of high technology companies.
