Albert L. Bossier, Jr. Announces Retirement.


NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1999--

Litton Ship Systems said today that Mr. Albert L. Bossier Bossier may refer to:

, Jr. announced his plans to retire effective November 1, 1999, as President of Avondale Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:AVDL AVDL Application Vulnerability Description Language ) Mr. Bossier began his distinguished career with Avondale as an electrical engineer more than 42 years ago after graduating from Louisiana State University Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, generally known as Louisiana State University or LSU, is a public, coeducational university located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the main campus of the Louisiana State University System.  in Baton Rouge Baton Rouge (băt`ən rzh) [Fr.,=red stick], city (1990 pop. 219,531), state capital and seat of East Baton Rouge parish, SE La. . He was named President of Avondale in 1978 when it was a subsidiary of Ogden Corporation and guided the company successfully through a spin-off in 1985, and its recent merger into Litton Industries Named after inventor Charles Litton Sr., Litton Industries was a large defense contractor in the United States, bought by the Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2001. , Inc. effective August 2 of this year.

In a letter to all Avondale employees announcing his retirement, Mr. Bossier, 66, expressed "...an enormous sense of appreciation to all employees of Avondale, past and present, who through their dedication and hard work have contributed to the success of our company. I retire with a sense of satisfaction knowing that Avondale, now part of Litton Industries, is positioned for future growth and continued success," he said.
