Albert's all right now! RECOVERY: Treasured pet is back on his feet again after horror attack.Byline: By Warren Manger ADORABLE Albert has made a miraculous recovery, just three months after being savaged by a Rottweiler Rottweiler (rŏt`wīlər), breed of sturdy working dog developed from a Roman cattle dog introduced into S Germany more than 1,900 years ago. It stands from 21 3-4 to 27 in. (55.3–68. . It's hard to believe this pictureperfect pooch is the same tiny dog that was ripped apart while out on an evening walk with his owner Richard Baker. Albert's tragic tale sparked outrage and sympathy in equal measure after appearing in the Coventry Telegraph. The horrifying attack near Spencer Park, in Earlsdon, shortly after Christmas left tiny Albert's chest hanging open. He had to undergo emergency surgery to stitch him back together and was too terrified ter·ri·fy tr.v. ter·ri·fied, ter·ri·fy·ing, ter·ri·fies 1. To fill with terror; make deeply afraid. Delighted owner Richard, of Broadway, Earlsdon, said: "I was so relieved I nearly cried. "I thought I had lost him or at the very least he would be a changed dog. "He still gets on well with other dogs and he just wants to love everyone." Richard admits he is still worried about running into the Rottweiler again and tries to take Albert for a walk while it is still light, sticking to places where there are plenty of people. "I tend to stick to the back streets or take him to the Memorial Park but I am still very wary, I've got my eyes everywhere," he said. Albert's story moved so many Coventry Telegraph readers that it prompted a flood of letters from wellwishers. Richard has been overwhelmed by the support he has received, in particular from pet charity the PDSA and Earlsdon Methodist Church, where minister and dog lover Rev Andrew de Ville prayed for Albert's recovery. "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone, especially Leanne and Jackie at the RSPCA RSPCA (in Britain) Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals RSPCA n abbr (Brit) (= Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) → SPA f shop in Earlsdon, and Albert's nanny Nerys" said Richard.
