Albanese Development to discuss "green" buildings with AREW Oct. 2.Nicknamed "18A" for the location of its site in Battery Park City, 20 River Terrace, a 27-story, 282-unit luxury residential tower, will be one of the foremost environmentally responsible, efficient and comfortable "green" buildings in the world. The Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) will welcome Russell C. Albanese, president, Albanese Development Corporation, the developer of 20 River Terrace, and Dr. Jerome H. Blue, senior vice president of project development and management, Battery Park City Authority (BPCA BPCA - Battery Park City Authority (New York state) BPCA - Bay Point Community Association BPCA - Bayesian Principal Component Analysis BPCA - Benelux Pen Collectors Association BPCA - Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act of 2002 (US) BPCA - Biochemical Pest Control Agents BPCA - Black Professional Coaches Alliance BPCA - Bluefields Peoples' Community Association BPCA - British Paediatric Cardiac Association BPCA - British Pest Control Association), as guest speakers at their Tuesday, October 2nd luncheon. Sponsored by ACC Construction Corporation, the luncheon will be held at the Harvard club of New York, 27 West 44th St. (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues). A networking reception with no-host bar begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the luncheon and program at 12:30 p.m. Albanese Development Corporation has long perceived its development activity as a vehicle for contributing to the enhancement of the adjacent and wider community in which a project exists. Russell Albanese was instrumental in the firm's strategic decision to undertake environmentally responsible developments and led the firm in competing for, and being designated as, developer of, 20 River Terrace. Russell Albanese joined Albanese Development Corporation after earning a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Duke University. He has over 20 years experience in real estate development, is responsible for planning, design and oversight of the firm's major projects and participates in overall direction of the organization. Dr. Jerome H. Blue has led operations of public and private sector organizations, including service as a chief and senior executive at federal, state and local levels of government. At BPCA, he is the chief administrator for all development and oversees the design and construction departments. AREW members may attend the luncheon at no charge.
