Alaskan Brewing Co. keeps on winning

The Great American Beer Festival has once again showered national recognition upon Alaskan Brewing Co. for the quality and appeal of its beers.

For the third time, Alaskan Amber Beer was awarded a gold medal in the "Alt" category. Alt beers are a style of copper-colored ale originally from Germany. Alaskan Amber consistently won awards at the Festival since its introduction in 1987, a brewery spokesperson said.

"[Receiving this award] is certainly a great honor to be consistently ranked so highly among so many longstanding and well established competitors," explained Geoff Larson, co-owner, Alaskan Brewery.

Two other Alaskan products received awards. The Alaskan Seasonal Smoked Porter, brewed with smoked malts, was awarded the silver medal in the "Rauch" category. Additionally, the brewery's Alaskan's Seasonal Autumn Ale was honored with a silver in "Amber Ales" division.
