Alaska Wireless Upgrades Its Network to TECORE's GSM Platform.

Alaskan Operator Expands Local and Roaming GSM Services 

ORLANDO, Fla. -- TECORE([R]) Wireless Systems, a leading provider of 3G and next-generation wireless networks, announced today from CTIA Wireless 2007 that it has deployed its mobile core network solution at Alaska Wireless Communications, LLC, a wireless communications provider based in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Utilizing TECORE's SoftMSC([R]) System, Alaska Wireless provides GSM services to the Dutch Harbor and Unalaska region of Alaska's Aleutian Islands. The deployment includes TECORE's award-winning Over-the-Air Local Prepaid Roaming, a unique roaming feature that enables Alaska Wireless to offer expanded roaming in its service areas. TECORE's Over-the-Air Local Prepaid Roaming feature was recognized by the GSM Association as "Best Roaming Product or Service" at the 3GSM 2007 World Congress event held in February.
