Alaska Wild partners with Anchorage Indoor Flag Football.


Alaska Wild The Alaska Wild is a professional indoor football team in the Intense Football League. The team play their home games at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska. Team history
The Alaska Wild was organized May 6, 2006 to become Alaska's first professional football team.
 has secured a partnership with the Anchorage Anchorage (ăng`kərĭj), city (1990 pop. 226,338), Anchorage census div., S central Alaska, a port at the head of Cook Inlet; inc. 1920.  Indoor Flag Football League (AIFFL), a recreational five-on-five noncontact league played at the Cellular One Sports Center in Anchorage.

The Alaska Wild, Alaska's first and only professional football team, will use the AIFFL to scout and develop local players interested in elevating to a professional level.

Rick Quattlebaum organized the AIFFL in 2004 with 48 players and four teams; in 2005 the league grew to six teams. "The biggest challenge for local athletes making it to the next level is the inability to play year-round in Alaska; this (AIFFL) partnership will fill this void and provide athletes an opportunity to work on football skills and foot-speed during the winter months and improve their chances," said Weatherholt.
