Alaska Communications Systems, (or ACS) is a telecommunications corporation, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.
 Group, Inc. ("ACS (Asynchronous Communications Server) See network access server. ") (Nasdaq:ALSK) today announced that it has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a shelf registration statement covering the possible future sale by the company of up to 15,000,000 shares of common stock. In addition, 19,598,879 shares of the company's common stock are being registered by selling stockholders.

If the shelf registration statement is declared effective, the company may offer and sell from time to time up to an aggregate of 15,000,000 shares of common stock in one or more offerings during the next two years at prices and on terms determined at the time of each offering. Each time the company or the selling stockholders offers any common stock for sale, a prospectus supplement will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission containing specific information about the terms of that offering.
