Alaska Begins Service to La Paz, Celebrates 10th Anniversary in Mexico.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1998--Alaska Airlines marked its 10th anniversary in Mexico this morning with its inaugural flight to the Mexican resort community of La Paz La Paz, city, Bolivia
La Paz (lä päs), city (1992 pop. 713,378), W Bolivia, administrative capital (since 1898) and largest city of Bolivia. The legal capital is Sucre.

Two weekly departures to La Paz are scheduled this winter, with nonstop service available from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and direct one-stop service from Seattle. Easy one-stop connections are also available from Portland and the Bay Area.

"The addition of this new service to La Paz is a testament to the tremendous popularity of our service to Mexico during the past 10 years," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska's vice president of marketing and planning.

La Paz is situated 99 miles northwest of Los Cabos Los Cabos is a municipality located at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, in the state of Baja California Sur. It encompasses the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, as well as the Resort Corridor that lies between the two.  on the western shores of the Sea of Cortez. In addition to a famed seaside promenade shaded by palm trees, the city of 180,000 offers visitors a variety of activities including sportfishing sport·fish·ing
