Alaska Airlines Increases Baggage Liability Limit.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2000

Alaska Airlines Alaska Airlines, (NYSE: ALK) is an airline based in Seattle, Washington, United States. It operates hubs at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, and Portland International Airport.  today announced that it has increased the domestic U.S. liability limit for lost or damaged baggage from $1,250 to $2,500 per ticketed customer traveling within the domestic United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  effective for travel which begins today.

The increase follows the recent implementation of Alaska's "It's About You" customer commitment plan.

That plan is an outgrowth of the pledge by the nation's airlines to Congress and the traveling public, which included support for an increase in the baggage liability limit.
