Alaska Airlines Doubles Tucson/San Jose Service.

Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) has increased service between San Jose and Tucson from one flight to two daily non-stop flights and has adjusted flight times to accommodate business travelers who prefer early morning and late afternoon departures.

"The popularity of our service between Tucson and San Jose has proven the need for additional service," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska's senior vice president of marketing and sales. "We are pleased to accommodate the needs of our customers in these two cities."

Flight 749 has been adjusted from a mid-day flight to a morning departure, leaving Tucson at 6:23 and arriving in San Jose at 8:26. The new Flight 723 will depart from Tucson in the evening at 6:37, arriving in San Jose at 8:40.

From San Jose, Flight 798 is scheduled to depart at 9:21 a.m. and arrive in Tucson at 11:18. Flight 712 departs at 4:05 p.m. and arrives in San Jose at 6:02 p.m.

With the addition of the second San Jose/Tucson flight, there are now four flights between Tucson and Seattle: two Seattle/Tucson non-stops flights and two same-plane flights with a stop in San Jose.

Alaska began non-stop service between San Jose and Tucson last October.
