The Corporation's decision to restate re·state tr.v. re·stat·ed, re·stat·ing, re·states To state again or in a new form. See Synonyms at repeat. re·state its financial statements for the first three quarters of 2004 was based on its determination that the financial statements as originally prepared did not comply with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles The standard accounting rules, regulations, and procedures used by companies in maintaining their financial records. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) provide companies and accountants with a consistent set of guidelines that cover both broad accounting as a result of the Corporation's inadvertent failure to adopt the new accounting policy (described in the press release) commencing in the first quarter of 2004. As well, the Corporation wishes to advise that the preparation of the restated financial statements has been delayed and will be available to the public on SEDAR SEDAR System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval SEDAR Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review at www.sedar.com on or about February 28, 2005.
