Kessler, 56, will direct the newly formed company as it develops build-to-suit and significantly pre-leased projects, and invests in high-quality properties performing below their market potential in areas of the country which are recovering. These will include office buildings, office parks and mixed-use developments Mixed-use development refers to the practice of allowing more than one type of use in a building or set of buildings. In planning zone terms, this can mean some combination of residential, commercial, industrial, office, institutional, or other land uses. .

Prior to joining CDI, Kessler served as senior vice president of Vector Real Estate Corporation for six years, acquiring income-producing properties and sites for residential and commercial development. In addition, he supervised all phases of development projects, and negotiated major leases for the company.

Earlier, he served as executive vice president and COO of Tandy & Allen Realty Company, with total responsibility for operating and managing a portfolio of shopping centers, office buildings and apartment houses. Kessler's activities across the U.S. and Canada culminated in more than $100 million in aggregate leases for the company.

Prior to that, as vice president of Eastern operations and a director of Ogden Development Corp., he managed national development projects, from land acquisition through construction supervision.
