Alan Kowalchyk Elected to Merchant & Gould Executive Committee.

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 2002

Alan Kowalchyk has been elected to the three-person executive committee of Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property law firm with offices in Minneapolis, Atlanta, Seattle, Denver, and Washington, D.C.

"Alan will be a valuable addition to the committee," said Randy King, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Kowalchyk has been with the firm for 18 years. His practice focuses on patent litigation, client counseling, and alternative dispute resolution Procedures for settling disputes by means other than litigation; e.g., by Arbitration, mediation, or minitrials. Such procedures, which are usually less costly and more expeditious than litigation, are increasingly being used in commercial and labor disputes, Divorce  of complex intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on the life sciences. He has also served on and chaired various Minnesota state citizen committees and is an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) is a national bar association that was formed in 1897 to improve intellectual property laws and educate the public about such issues. .
