Alan Bates Joins Extraprise Board of Directors; Extraprise Recruits European Technology Industry Heavyweight to the Board.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2000

Extraprise(R) today announced the Board appointment of Alan Bates as director. Extraprise is an international e-services firm which provides strategy, creative and technology services across online and offline customer channels. The company launched in Europe in March, following the acquisitions of Pointer Consulting, a customer relationship management consultancy and Bridgewater, a growth management consultancy.

Bates' appointment follows several other high profile appointments to the Extraprise board, including Mitch Kurz, former vice chairman of Young & Rubicam, Inc. He will work closely with Ken Marshall, Extraprise Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , and Jim Beagle, Executive Vice President of International Operations at Extraprise, to help guide the company's international expansion.

Bates, whose career in the European IT, Internet, broadband and cable industries spans more than 35 years, has held a number of directorial, chairman and CEO positions with organizations including the Cable Communications Association, Bell Cablemedia Plc and Corporate Executive Search Ltd. He currently acts as non-executive director for Yes Television Plc and MTI MTI Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore)

Bates has also previously undertaken the role of "company doctor" and consultant for organizations including The Economist magazine and Tektronix Europe Ltd, where he proved his ability to develop business strategies to dramatically improve the performance of companies. In 1988, he used this experience to turn around the fortunes of a troubled cable television company, East London Telecommunications Ltd. This led to the development of Jones Cable Group in the UK where he was managing director and later to the creation of Bell Cablemedia Plc following the merger with Bell Canada's UK interests.
