Alamo Group Inc. Files Shelf Registration Statement.

SEGUIN, Texas -- Alamo Group Inc. (NYSE: ALG) announced today that it has filed a shelf registration statement on Form S-3 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The shelf registration statement, when declared effective by the SEC, would give the Company the ability to offer and sell up to 2,300,000 shares of its common stock. After the shelf registration becomes effective, the common stock may be offered and sold from time to time and through one or more methods of distribution, subject to market conditions and the Company's capital needs. The terms of any offering would be established at the time of the offering.

Currently, the Company does not have any commitments to sell shares under the registration statement. However, the registration statement has been filed in order to provide the Company with the flexibility, as it deems appropriate, to raise additional capital in the future.

A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the SEC but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
