Watts, Jr. will assume the role of chief executive officer.

Current CEO, Michael Burroughs, told trustees he is making the decision to leave his position for personal reasons which prevent him from continuing to commute on a regular basis between his home and the medical center.

"We're thankful to Mike for his hard work and contributions over the past several months and we are very confident in Claude's experience and leadership qualities," said Ted Rose, MD, president of the ACMC Board of Trustees.

Cambio Health Solutions will provide a replacement for Watts as chief operating officer. The transition of responsibilities between Burroughs and Watts will begin immediately and be completed by November 15.

The Board also said that the recruitment process for the selection of a permanent CEO will be initiated very soon, with the goal of having that person in place prior to the departure of Cambio Health Solutions in August 2005.
