In response to increasing threats such as VBS See VBScript. .Stages, Aladdin's CSRT personnel are now providing eSafe customers with an enhanced attachment analyzer, adding protection that detects, analyzes and blocks all such SHS SHS Shares (stock)

The stealth mechanism within these vandals is the new and unacknowledged danger within the industry. These vandals arrive as email attachment files with a double extension such as TXT TXT Text

.SHS or MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs). .SHS or other variations. SHS present a dangerous threat because the SHS extension is hidden by Windows, allowing vandals, Trojans, and viruses to masquerade as legitimate files. The SHS extension is associated with special Windows Scrap files that possess a special structure enabling it to house any executable file. Executable files can be malicious script, MS Office documents containing malicious macros and even malicious screensaver files.

"This new wave of threats requires an equally powerful solution that provides continued proactive security without the need for constant updates," Shimon Gruper, Aladdin's Executive Vice President of Internet Technologies, said. "The new stealth attachment technique being used by hackers could give birth to a crop of new threats, conning unsuspecting users into executing almost any malicious code imaginable. The possibilities are endless. Providing generic, proactive protection is the only way to prepare for future, yet unknown attacks, just around the corner."

Aladdin's response to this evolving threat is an example of the CSRT's ongoing effort to inform and protect users. The new enhanced attachment analyzer, developed exclusively by Aladdin, provides generic security against any such vandal. This technology serves as added security in addition to the existing protection from SHS vandals provided by eSafe products. All eSafe users can download an update with the new technology from Aladdin's website.
