Storage innovator Alacritus(TM) Software announced today that it will be demonstrating a disk-based Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solution during the Storage World Conference.

Alacritus' Securitus software will enable a Hitachi disk subsystem to create a tape library replacement. The demo will be held in Booth 209 and in the Interop Lab from 12:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the San Jose Convention Center, August 20-21. Alacritus Founder Don Trimmer to appear on the "CTO Roundtable" at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 20.

Since the Securitus software emulates standard tape libraries, the plug-and-play solution can be deployed in enterprises without any disruption to existing backup applications or procedures. This advanced data protection solution is used with a wide range of disk subsystems as a more reliable, efficient, and easier-to-use alternative to tape libraries.
