The emerging iSCSI standard has received broad industry support as it is expected to become the cornerstone of the convergence of networking and storage. Stepping up its commitment to iSCSI, Alacritech has joined Cisco Systems' AVVID AVVID Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data (Cisco)

"iSCSI demonstrations by Cisco and FalconStor reinforce the benefits our TCP/IP acceleration technology brings toward the practical deployment of IP storage solutions. Alacritech looks forward to working with fellow charter members of the SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association, San Francisco, CA, www.snia.org) An organization devoted to the advancement of mission critical storage systems. Founded in 1997, its goal is to determine the standards that must be developed to allow hosts and storage systems to interact via  (Storage Networking Industry Association An association of producers and consumers of storage networking products, whose goal is to further storage networking technology and applications. About iSCSI and SNIA

The emerging iSCSI standard enables SCSI-based block-level storage to be accessed over IP networks. Implementors of iSCSI are demanding hardware-based TCP/IP solutions to give iSCSI products the same hardware protocol processing afforded by traditional storage devices. Alacritech's SLIC(TM) (session layer interface card) Technology is the first commercially available solution for TCP acceleration. As a charter member of the SNIA IP Storage Forum, Alacritech will help market and promote standards-based block storage networking solutions using IP networks.

About Alacritech, Inc.

With the leadership of industry experts, including founder Larry Boucher (inventor of the SCSI interface), Alacritech, Inc. is leading the way to the next generation of network and storage connectivity by delivering TCP/IP acceleration solutions to dramatically boost the performance of network-attached devices. The company's session layer interface card (SLIC) architecture is the first scalable and fully compatible technology to offload network protocol processing, primarily TCP/IP, from the server CPU CPU
