Alabama Theatre's 'One The Show' Opens to Rave Reviews.

Alabama Theatre raised the curtains Friday, February 6th on its live multi-million dollar show produced by prestigious Haywood Productions, which is considered among the nation's top live entertainment production companies. Executive Producer of the show and President of Haywood Production, John Haywood is a long time veteran of Nashville's entertainment scene. For the 2004 edition of One The Show, Haywood has assembled a team of the most acclaimed writers, choreographers, designers and lighting directors in the business to execute a production of this magnitude for the Alabama Theatre. "It is befitting that a show entitled One open with this type of performance quality" stated Haywood.

Cited as one of the Grandest of the Entertainment venues in the Southeast, Alabama Theatre's 2004 edition of One has taken a top quality, diverse production and, in essence, achieved a prestigious level of entertainment the likes usually seen only in New York or Vegas!

We have incorporated seventeen new songs into this talent rich show of America's favorite music. To add WOW power to the already multi-million dollar production, new special effect lighting instruments, a new state of the art sound board, along with extraordinary costumes and visuals will make this year's show like none before it.

The gregarious and ever-popular Greg Rowles will again host our show. Gail Bliss returns this year singing several new tunes, including Reba McIntyre's hit song, Gonna Take that Mountain, a duet with the remarkable Victor DeLeon of Roy Orbison's Cryin'. Gail recently won top honors at the CCMA Awards for the best-written Christian song Where Love Lives, which she also performs in the show.

Other production numbers are added this year, including the closing number of Act I, This House is Rockin', a swing dancing number that incorporates Swing, Brother, Swing; Sing, Sing, Sing; It Don't Mean a Thing with flashy costumes and brilliant choreography.

Three new dancers will adorn our production this season, two of whom are aerialists and will display their talents as part of the high energy opening of Act II. They fly and spin on ropes as the band and singers fill the house with color and flash and Dusty Giamanco taps on a mid-house platform. It's stunning.

We will maintain our connection with country music with both classic and contemporary songs that include Front Porch Lookin' In, Don't It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue, We Really Shouldn't Be Doin' This, Mountain Music\Orange Blossom Special, Jessica Andrews' Good Times, among others.

The hugely popular Grant Turner returns with his alter ego Ricky Mokel to share his unique perspective on everything from digging holes to big hair. He has become a crowd favorite and is sure to complete the make-up of this extraordinary show with lots of laughter.
