Alabama National BanCorporation commences public offering.


SHOAL CREEK, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--November 17, 1994--Alabama National BanCorporation (ALAB ALAB Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board ) announced today that it has commenced the initial public offering of its common stock.

Up to 1,300,000 shares of the common stock are being sold at $10.00 per share in an underwritten offering co-managed by J.C. Bradford & Co. and Raymond James & Associates, Inc. Of the total offering, 1,000,000 shares are being sold by Alabama National and 300,000 shares are being sold by certain selling stockholders.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the shares by Alabama National is being used to repay existing indebtedness. Alabama National's common stock is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board OTC Bulletin Board

An electronic quotation listing of the bid and asked prices of OTC stocks that do not meet the requirements to be listed on the NASDAQ stock-listing system.
 under the symbol "ALAB" and Alabama National has applied to have the common stock listed on the Nasdaq National Market System under the symbol "ALAB."

Alabama National is the holding company for six community banks with 12 offices in east-central and south Alabama. At September 30, 1994, Alabama National had total assets of $271.8 million and stockholders' equity of $21.0 million.
