Alabama Baptists drop request for FEMA aid after controversy erupts.

The situation was complicated by a Jan. 23 article in the Mobile Register questioning the validity of reimbursing the churches and implying that some of the reimbursement requests were frivolous. The article quoted one pastor, Billy Lambert of Summerdale Church of Christ, whose church said it would not seek federal reimbursement.

"If we're covered by donations, first of all, I think it would be unethical," Lambert said. "I believe that would be double dipping Double Dipping
