The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is a private charitable organization based in New York City. is proud to announce its 8th Annual Hope Chest Auction, to be held on a new day this year, Thursday, April 4, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. at the marvelous new Workplay complex located on the corner of 5th Ave., South and 23rd Street. Along with the ever popular silent auction, The Hope Chest Auction will feature well known auctioneer AUCTIONEER, contracts, commerce. Each artist then creates an original work of art with a miniature wood chest or a unique box as its centerpiece. New to the auction this year will be expanded selections of art available through both the Live and Silent auctions. Additional live auction packages offering travel, both near and far, fine dining and personal pampering will be presented as well. Like many charities, The Children's Aid Society has also felt the effects of the tragedy of last September. Now, more than ever, these original works of art represent much needed hope for the families that receive assistance. All proceeds from the Hope Chest Auction will fund in-home services provided by the CAS Family Intervention A procedure used in a lawsuit by which the court allows a third person who was not originally a party to the suit to become a party, by joining with either the plaintiff or the defendant.
