Al Samha can make his Mark.

MARK JOHNSTON'S Al Samha made a very pleasing debut and looks capable of following up in the Dine In Verb 1. dine in - eat at home
eat in

eat - eat a meal; take a meal; "We did not eat until 10 P.M. because there were so many phone calls"; "I didn't eat yet, so I gladly accept your invitation"
Style At Horizons Handicap at Wolverhampton.

A well-bred son of Elusive Quality Elusive Quality (born 1993) is a thoroughbred racehorse who holds the world record for one mile on turf, 1 minute 31.6 seconds, set in the 1998 Poker Handicap.

Elusive Quality, owned by Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, stands at stud at Gainsborough Farm in Versailles,
, he cost a pretty penny, and doubtless connections have loftier ambitions for him than a class three handicap at Dunstall Park.

But it is a route Johnston is fond of taking - his Royal Ascot Royal Ascot

annual horserace, occasion for great fashionable turnout. [Br. Cult.: Brewer Dictionary, 49]

Royal Ascot

England’s fashionable annual event. [Br. Cult.
winner Zaham began his career in similar surroundings at Lingfield.

This contest, however, has attracted some nice types with Michael Jarvis' Grand Strategy winning his last two, Mick Channon's Dream Desert winning his only start and Terry Mills Terry Richard Mills (born December 21 1967 in Romulus, Michigan) is a retired American professional basketball player at the power forward position.

Mills attended the University of Michigan where he helped the Wolverines win the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball
and Jeremy Noseda Jeremy Noseda (born September 17, 1963) is a British racehorse trainer.

After six years working for John Dunlop, and five years as assistant to John Gosden, he joined Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation in late 1993, and played a significant role in training such horses as
 also sending progressive horses.

But Al Samha, from the family of Sayyedati, could not have done much more on his debut at the track earlier this month, and as he was sent off favourite he had obviously been showing plenty at home.

This looks the next step on a logical path to better things.

Karl Burke has started the season in tremendous form, with Aahayson winning the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster and even a having a winner in Ireland at Dundalk.

His Blue Sky Thinking is in great heart for a nine-year-old, having won five of his last six races.

The Name A Race To Enhance Your Brand Claiming Stakes seems to have plenty of dead wood, and it would be no surprise to see him continue his fine recent form.

Another in great nick is Derek Shaw's Gallantry, runner-up on his last three starts, but having shown an improvement in form on each of those runs. His second behind Mick Easterby's Atlantic Story reads very well and he now finds himself competing from a career-high mark.

The Wolverhampton-Racecourse.co.uk Handicap is a tight little affair so it should pay to stick with one in form.

Ralph Beckett's Spin Again ran a perfectly respectable race on debut at Goodwood, and if he has progressed he should take some beating in the Captain Croc Says It's Pontin's Time Maiden Stakes at Lingfield.

He was up against horses from the top stables in that back-end event and showed enough to suggest an all-weather maiden is well within his compass.

Jim Boyle places his horses to great effect and Home is another good example of that fact in the Go Pontin's For Great Value Holidays Claiming Stakes.

A winner of three of his last five starts, he seemed to appreciate the step up in trip last time and may be still on the upgrade.

The victory of Companero a week before the Cheltenham Festival signalled a return to form for the Howard Johnson yard, and he looks capable of going in again at Ayr.

The Mary Anderson "National Hunt" Novices Hurdle does not look too competitive.
