Akzo Nobel strengthens printing ink position in Germany.


ARNHEM, The Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 8, 1995--Akzo Nobel has acquired the German printing ink company Lindgens Druckfarben GmbH, Located in Cologne Cologne (kəlōn`), Ger. Köln, city (1994 pop. 962,500), North Rhine–Westphalia, W Germany, on the Rhine River. It is a commercial, financial, and industrial center, a rail and road junction, and a river port. .

The activity will be integrated into industrial products, an Akzo Nobel Akzo Nobel is a multinational company, active in the fields of healthcare products, coatings and chemicals. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the company has activities in more than 80 countries, and employs approximately 62,000 people.  business unit operating under the name Casco Nobel.

The take-over is subject to approval by the Bundeskartellamt.

Lindgens has annual sales of DEM See digital elevation model.  25 million, and employs 57 people. The company holds a strong position in metal decorating and newspaper inks, and also supplies waterbased packaging inks.
