Akron Rubber Group. (Rubber Group News). The Akron Rubber Group will hold its spring technical meeting May 8 at the Martin University Center in Akron, OH. The technical session on "Performance polymers," moderated by David Frantz of Goodyear Tire & Rubber, will include a keynote address by Ben Kastein on "75 years of the Akron Rubber Group." Technical presentations will include the following: "`Liquid crystals and polymers: A match made in heaven," John West, Kent State University; "Therban hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber: Past, present and future," Sharon Guo and John Dato, Bayer; "New thermoplastic elastomers by anionic an·i·on n. A negatively charged ion, especially the ion that migrates to an anode in electrolysis. [From Greek, neuter present participle of anienai, to go up : ana-, ana- polymerization polymerization Any process in which monomers combine chemically to produce a polymer.
