Ako Kasei Confirms Deep Seawater Helps Lower Blood Pressure.

Tokyo, Japan, Nov 16, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Japanese salt manufacturer Ako Kasei announced on November 14 the results of its recent research on deep seawater. Using the Kurosawa and Kusanagi-Hypercholesterolemic (KHC) rabbits, laboratory rabbits which specifically develop hereditary hypercholesteremia, the company has examined how an intake of Amami-no-Mizu (hardness of 1000), its proprietary high mineral water derived from deep seawater, affects hypertension and arteriosclerosis arteriosclerosis (ärtĭr'ēōsklərō`sis), general term for a condition characterized by thickening, hardening, and loss of elasticity of the walls of the blood vessels. .

Compared to ones taking normal water, the levels of blood pressure, namely systolic Systolic

Accordingly, Ako Kasei concluded that an intake of deep seawater has potential to prevent lifesytle-related diseases like hypertension and arteriosclerosis.

Details of the research were presented at the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Clinical Physiology held in October.
