Akimbo Wins 2005 Digital World Innovations Award and Other Honors at CES.

LAS VEGAS -- Trailblazing Internet-to-TV VOD Service Will Be Showcased at CES Innovations Showcase, Speaking Engagements, and Intel and Microsoft Booths

Akimbo(TM) Systems, the first Internet-delivered video-on-demand (VOD) service for television, celebrates its CES debut with a 2005 Digital World Innovations Award. From the editors of PC World, the Digital World Innovations Awards honor trend-setting products that break the boundaries of consumer electronics and push the limits of technology.

In addition to winning the Digital World Innovations Award, Akimbo will receive a "Best of What's New" award from Popular Science and a 2005 Best of Innovations Award from CES in the Online/Internet category. The Akimbo Player will be shown in the Innovations Showcase in the Grand Lobby.

Akimbo is one of the newest names in home entertainment and the most visible company in the new world of Internet-to-TV VOD. The Akimbo Player is a stylish set-top box that uses an everyday broadband-Internet connection to download videos from the Akimbo Service for viewing directly on TV. The Akimbo Player can store up to 200 hours of video for playback whenever subscribers choose. The Akimbo Service features programs from more than 70 video providers in 50 different categories, including many shows that are not readily available on broadcast television.
