Shoaib Akhtar may have announced that he is fully fit to be a part of the national squad, but coach Intikhab Alam has made it clear that Akhtar still needs to prove his fitness ahead of the one-day series against Australia in the UAE.

Akhtar's securing a place back in the team may not be that easy as he is considering because Alam has clearly suggested that the past record would certainly be looked into along with the fitness level before announcing the final team for five ODI's and a Twenty20 match for the upcoming series.

"Akhtar got treatment without taking the medical panel of the board into confidence and his past performance would also be considered along with his fitness before taking him in the team," The Nation quoted Alam, as saying

He said the weather condition in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are very testing for the players.

"Akhtar need to be double fit to stay into rhythm in such warm weather," Alam added.

Replying to queries as whether Mohammad Yousuf, who terminated his contract with the ICL (International Computers Ltd., London) The former name of Fujitsu Services, the European-centered arm of the global Fujitsu Group and one of the leading IT services companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. , would be included in the national squad, Alam said the final decision would be taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
